Trick or Treat!

Hi!

Quick update here to join in on the Halloween fun.
I marked all the carving pumpkins in Lions Arch and the Mad King's Labyrinth.
A new feature has also been added in according to this, there's a new marker behavior type that will remember the instance the marker was triggered on. This means that if you trigger markers of this type and join another instance of the map, all the markers will be up again for you to run through them. If you manage to get back into the same instance you were in before, you'll see where you haven't been yet.
This feature is experimental and rough though, so don't start using it yet for Bloodstone Crystal nodes etc :)

You can download the new build here.

Change notes

  • Added markers for carving pumkins in Lion's Arch and the Mad king's Labyrinth.
  • Added marker behavior type 6: OncePerInstance.
  • Removed some logging that might have flooded the log file before GW2 was running.

    1. Hehe nice catch. TacO finds GW2 by looking for a window titled "Guild Wars 2" - this is the least intrusive way of finding the game, but yeah it's prone to false positives like that.

    1. Fill out the entire cycle with events and give them different background colors. See the others in the file as examples.

    1. That's for debug purposes. It'll be replaced with something better if there's need.

  6. I get crashe errors when I exit to desktop. This is only when I have used the editing mode and moved the boss/map timer window. Whenever I start it again, the window is back at the default position. This just started happening in build 023.1046r and continues in 024.1080.

  7. can we set marker max zoom size?
    cos it will block all screen by 1 icon lol

    and does it can set opacity both too far and too close (not only choose one)

    1. I did try limiting the size of the markers, but it messes up the depth perception. It's not an accident that a squad marker placed by your commander in-game does the same thing.

      Near fading out has a similar issue, but hm. Maybe the two can be combined. I'll look into it.

  8. I can't remember if i already posted about this but... could you please hide the markers and the taco-icon when gw2 is inside a loading-screen? You can easily check for loading-screens by checking the tick-value in the mumble-link. It doesn't change while gw2 is inside a loading screen, the character selection, etc. - and you can do something similar by checking the camera-position to hide the markers when the fullscreen map is displayed (basically the camera is moved to a position high above the character, facing towards the ground when the map is displayed if i remember correctly).

    1. Yes you already mentioned this, and I'll be looking into the loading screen part, but I already had a look at the map mode and that's just not feasible. "High above the character" is very relative, in a house in Queensdale it's a lot closer than in the main cave of the Tangled Depths.

  10. Hi!
    Is it possible, to make the Map Timer more transparent or make the lines thinner then they are now on "compact"-mode?
    And maybe add a possibility to change the event colors.

    In this way you could stretch the timer over the screen and mark the "important" parts red or green or whatever because I KNOW which line tells me which information.
    It's already very good with "Hardcore World Bosses" with black/red line, but with all timers active it's actual to big to stretch it over the whole screen and for me the timer is always in a wrong place when turned on, because I like to see what's coming next :D

    1. You can go into the maptimer.xml and edit it as you wish.

    2. Well, I managed to reorder, recolor and rename everything. I've also split the DS timer to 119+1 but I haven't found out, how to change the size of the timer to get smaller bars.
      At least I changed my UI_large.css and added "font:UniFont;" to:

      maptimer
      {
      margin:0px;
      background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0);
      font:UniFont;
      }

      Now the maptimer font is so small as in UI_small.css but I think this is caused by a small error because I could also write "font:whatever;" to get the same result.

    3. The height of the bars depends on the font used. You can look for the font tags in the UI.wbs file (it's actually an xml) to look for all the fonts available for use and experiment with those.

      Sent you a small donation.
      I look foward to your planned features and hope we will see the daily checklist soon ^^

    1. TacO is a tool for marking stuff yourself. Some people are working on marker packs for resource nodes, but it's a HUGE undertaking and not done yet.
